GIREESH VENGARA
Gireesh Vengara is a painter, graphic designer and cartoonist. He started painting at the age of nine. He cultivated painting and drawing as a hobby during his childhood and this later helped him become a professional artist. He did his diploma in fine arts from Kerala and secured a graduation later. During this period he had done a solo painting exhibition and was widely appreciated. This had given him tremendous inspiration and encouragement to take the profession more seriously.
Last ten years he has been doing paintings on various themes and the current series is on ‘Energy and Power’. The very movement of the universe, its various manifestations, its twists and turns – all are expressions of power and energy. All human activities, like nature, imbibe its strength from the combined interplay of this phenomenon. This series of paintings are well accepted and appreciated by art lovers and some of the paintings were sold at different exhibitions.
Apart from being a painter Gireesh also involves in doing caricature and drawing cartoons. His selected cartoons were displayed at the recent cartoon exhibition held at Indian Institute of Cartoonists, Bangalore. His several cartoons were published in various newspapers and magazines. Gireesh Vengara has also worked in several advertising agencies as art director, doing creative concepts, graphic designs, packaging designs and logos. He lives in Bangalore
